Set against the stately backdrop of Dover Hall, Annie and Murphy’s May wedding embraced the beauty of the season with a reception design that felt open, organic, and effortlessly elegant. Planned and designed by Walsh Events, the tented space was transformed into a garden-inspired setting where cascading greenery, soft light, and warm wood tones created an atmosphere that felt both elevated and relaxed.
Every design choice worked in harmony with the venue’s natural surroundings, allowing the celebration to feel connected to the landscape while still maintaining a refined sense of structure.
A Bar Designed to Feel Part of the Room
Rather than standing apart from the reception, the Light Wood Estate Half Oval Bar was designed to feel fully integrated into the space. Its curved shape softened the layout of the tent while its warm wood finish echoed the natural tones used throughout the design.
Behind the bar, Taupe Shelving created a layered backdrop that felt both practical and beautifully styled. Bottles, glassware, and decorative accents turned the bar area into a design feature of its own, one that felt polished without overpowering the surrounding décor.
A Dining Layout That Felt Effortless
The reception tables were arranged to create a dining experience that felt intimate while still maintaining the openness of the tent.
Light Wood Round Pedestal Dining Tables added softness to the overall layout, while Classic Carved Leg Dining Tables introduced a more traditional architectural detail that echoed the elegance of Dover Hall itself.
Paired with the James Chair, the seating design brought warmth and continuity to the room. The natural wood tones blended seamlessly with the florals and greenery installed throughout the tent, allowing the design to feel cohesive without relying on heavy color contrasts.
The Details That Made the Room Glow
As the evening unfolded, subtle details helped shift the atmosphere from bright garden celebration to warm evening gathering.
Gold & White Tabletop Lamps added a soft layer of light throughout the reception, creating intimate pools of glow across the dining tables and bar area. Combined with the overhead chandeliers and greenery installations, these accents helped the space transition beautifully from day to night.
The result was a reception environment that felt inviting, elegant, and thoughtfully layered from every angle.
