There’s something different about designing for a music festival.
It’s not just about how it looks when everything is perfectly styled and untouched. It’s about how it lives — how it holds up through long days, shifting weather, and guests actually using the space in real time.
For the Iron Blossom Music Festival, we created a VIP space that did exactly that: bold, layered, functional, and built to flex when the unexpected showed up. And yes, the unexpected showed up.
A Design That Didn’t Feel Temporary
Set against the energy of the festival, the VIP space was designed to feel intentional from every angle. Clean architectural elements grounded the layout, while curved silhouettes and saturated color brought in movement and personality.
The Freestanding Customizable 8′ Wall, Customizable Wavy Half Wall, and Half Round Platform with Step created a striking focal moment — part backdrop, part destination. Paired with rounded panels, warm wood tones, and layered greenery, the space felt more like a curated environment than a temporary install.
Overhead, the Chartreuse Velvet Pendant with Fringe introduced a playful, unexpected detail that pulled the entire color story together in a way that felt both elevated and festival-ready. Every piece worked together to create depth and a unique experience.
Where Comfort Meets Color
Festival guests weren’t just passing through. They were settling in. So the lounge seating had to feel inviting and durable.
The Leigh Sofa, Settee, and Chairs anchored the space with a rich, welcoming palette, while the Rowland Lounge, Basil Smash Lounge, and Paloma Lounge created moments for conversation and pause throughout the layout.
Teal braided poufs, stained pine benches with cushions, and layered coffee tables added flexibility, giving guests places to gather, rest, and stay awhile without ever feeling static.
Built for the Experience (Not Just the Photo)
Of course, a festival lounge has to do more than look good.
The Black Shadowbox Bar with Rattan Insert and Black Arched Metal Shelving created a polished, functional bar setup, while Aperture Wooden Cocktail Tables with Umbrellas gave guests a place to gather between sets.
And throughout the space, a curated collection of lawn games kept the energy relaxed and interactive — because a VIP experience should feel just as fun as it does elevated.
When the Weather Has Other Plans
Then came the rain.
What could have been a disruption became part of the story. Cushions were covered, pieces were protected, and the space adapted in real time to keep everything usable and intact.
At the end of the day, cushions made a trip back to the warehouse for overnight drying. Because behind every seamless guest experience is a team making quick decisions and doing the unglamorous work that keeps everything moving (including using said cushions as cover.)
It’s one thing to design a beautiful space. It’s another to design one that can pivot without losing its impact.
A Space That Showed Up, Start to Finish
By the time the festival was in full swing, the VIP lounge had become exactly what it was meant to be — a place to land, recharge, connect, and take in the experience from a different vantage point.
Proof that great event design isn’t just about the reveal. It’s about everything that happens after.
